Day 1 (4 May 2006)
Arrival at Boracay: at Boat Station 3!, which menas a walkathon to Station 2 where we will be staying, carga-carga our 2 bags each. Lynor only brought 1 bag, I don’t know how the hell she managed it, but she told me later that her things double-up for another purpose.. like the sarong.. it doubles up as habol/blanket.. if you get wet, it doubles up as a towel. And of course, the AMAZING BANDANA aka BLINDFOLD aka SCARF aka BIKINI TOP aka TAPIS! Multipurpose! “Pwede pa place-mat and table napkin?” OK, back to the walkathon, we arrived at Sander’s White Resort where we will be staying, only to be told that the room occupants haven’t vacated yet. OK wait a little bit pa, blood glucose level = 90. Fifteen minutes later, nothing happens, blood glucose level = 85. My gosh, it’s already 1pm, they’re supposed to be gone by 12nn, 30 minutes later, wala pa rin! Blood glucose level = 78! Gutom na! Irritable na tanan! Civilized pa naman, pero struggling with the monsters within already. Finally, the room becomes empty, we put all our bags in and by 2pm, Mario was guiding us around the places where we could eat with reasonable prices (that’s Jasper’s), where we could do our groceries, do our shopping, hang-out, and he also showed us the little alleys that become short-cuts if you are familiar with them. If you are, however, a geo-idiot like me, those little alley ways become the perfect recipe for getting LOST! On a positive note, getting lost could be quite an adventure, on a negative note, it could be quite a nightmare. After lunch, we were pretty much on our own.. did some groceries, checked out the cool hang-outs. And note, everybody was wearing shirts and shorts.. good to note this coz this will change in the course of the following days. Celebrity sightings: KC Montero, Alex Compton.
After doing our groceries, we went back to Sander’s to rest a bit. It was here where the famous line was said “Paki-cerrado ang puerta, mag-gwa ang aircon.” Shuweng! (“I didn’t know airconditioners could walk now.”)
After waking-up, the prime objective was now shopping!
